 Sports Perf. - Honduras

Jim, the tour director, serves as the Associate Director of Sports Performance for Athletes in Action, with prior service in the basketball and gymnastics departments since joining AIA in 1981.

His responsibilities include caring for the injuries and strength and conditioning needs of athletes at sports camps, international sports tours, and projects in the United States. Equipping and recruiting sports medicine and strength and conditioning professionals to serve is another priority.

Jim has traveled throughout the United States and in 34 countries with AIA. His education includes a Masters in Sports Science Degree (MSS), in Sports Fitness Management, from the United States Sports Academy in August of 1990. In May of 1981, Jim received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education (Athletic Training), from California State University, Sacramento.

Prior to joining AIA, Jim spent three summers as an athletic trainer for the Visalia Oaks professional baseball team (affiliated with the Minnesota Twins). In 2013, he was inducted into the Visalia Professional Baseball Hall of Fame as a member of the 1978 California League Championship team. Jim and his wife Deb live in Cincinnati, Ohio and have three children: Amber, Matt and April. In his free time, he enjoys playing with his three grandsons and working out, which includes playing basketball and tennis.

When asked about the trip, Jim said, "I am prayerfully asking God to prepare my heart to serve our team and the ministry in Honduras. I have learned to be sensitive to God’s leading and not force my plans during the trip. I beleive that at the end of the tour, you can look back and see how God has directed our steps in sharing the love of God with the people of Honduras."
