UTC - Xenia, High School

  • High School UTC has begun!

    Section: UTC

Sunday marked week No. 2 for Ultimate Training Camp in Xenia.

It also served as the second week of welcoming high school athletes to this event in its history.

UTC serves to enable athletes at all levels to know how their relationship with Christ relates to their sport. Athletes are taught 5 biblical principles and then put those principles to work at the end of the week during the S.P.E.C.I.A.L - an intense, 20-hour athletic competition.

But this was only the first night - see some video introducing what these athletes will learn this week as well as a few games to kick off the week.

  • Just One More Sleep... Until Game Time! Urban Project - Los Angeles Starts Tomorrow!!

    Section: Urban Project

    Greetings from Los Angeles!

The team has been busy making the final touches to the house...and the decorations are looking fantastic. We have all definitely had the opportunity to exercise our creative sides! Below are some wonderful posters created by our talented staff, interns, and the kids. A particular favorite is one by Gunnar Buxman- "Team Jesus wins again"!

We have been praying for the students who arrive tomorrow and who will be taking over the blog in the coming weeks. Its going to be an exciting few days as everyone settles in, gets to know each other and prepares for the week ahead. Please be praying for safe travels for all our students tomorrow and for God’s presence to really be in this house!

One of the special things about UP-LA is the opportunity we have to grow together as a family. Over the next three weeks we will live, eat, learn and serve together and learn more about what it means to be part of the body of Christ. Today in our prayer meeting we focused on 1 Corinthians 12, where Paul talks about the body of Christ and how every part is valuable and unique. We are all created for a purpose and have different gifts and talents that are given to us for the purpose of furthering God’s kingdom. It’s exciting to know that everyone on the project has been brought here by our heavenly Father, and that he has something specific and special planned for each one of us. What a comfort to know that we need be nothing other than ourselves and can let God work!
