Sports Perf. - Honduras

On June 3, a team of nine Sports Performance professionals and students will travel to Honduras for a week-long tour. The purpose of the tour is to accelerate the local Athletes in Action ministry that is already occuring.  We hope to support and encourage the Cru/AIA in-country staff (Marco and his family) and volunteers.

The team’s goal is to build relationships with students, faculty, physiotherapists, and coaches at universities, at the Olympic training center, and with the Soccer Federation through teaching sports medicine and strength and conditioning.

Our vision is that we would have the opportunity to have conversations with the Honduran people that we meet while presenting at the conference at a university and while hosting clinics at the Olympic training center.  We hope to build relationships so that we can help the professionals and students increase in sports performance knowledge and skills while simultaneously helping them to grow emotionally and spiritually.

The AIA team is directed by Jim R., the Associate Director of AIA Sports Performance, who has previously traveled with Sports Performance teams to Honduras in 2008 and 2009. The assistant tour director is Karisa F., who is a year-long intern with AIA Sports Performance.

The AIA team is also comprised of four professionals and three students from across the United States and Canada who are looking to grow in their own journey of faith while also being a spiritual resource for the people they encounter throughout the tour experience in Honduras.
